DREAM ALONG WITH ME

With the dawn of 2013, what DREAMS do you have for yourself? Are they similar to mine?

Do you wish you could have a more OPEN HEART, be more LOVING to everything, everyone, especially to yourself? I wish that as well.

OPEN HEARTED

Do you wish to be more OPEN and TRANSPARENT with your feelings, your thoughts, and to care less and less about what others may think, when you do? Me too.

TRANSPARENCY

Will this be the year you are BRAVE enough, to peel back layers of self protection, open yourself up to all possibilities, stop being invisible to yourself and to others? I dream that dream for all women, for all people.

Sometimes it is difficult to look within ourselves and change old ways of being….

But when we do, that’s when our DREAMS become REAL, that’s when we experience LIVING FULLY

NOW, this year, it’s time for us to GROW, STRETCH OURSELVES

FEEL, DEEPER LOVING

AND MORE CREATIVITY, LIMITLESS IMAGININGS.

REALLY WITNESSING ALL BEAUTY IN LIFE

INTENSE WITH COLOR, SEEING CLEARLY, THE ALMOST INVISIBLE.

WE CAN TRANSFORM OURSELVES, AS WE STRETCH OUR WINGS.

THAT’S THE MAGIC OF LIFE!

AND WHEN LIVING IN THE LIGHTNESS OF BEING,

WE WILL FEEL PEACE, BECAUSE AT THE CORE OF OUR SPIRITUAL BEING, WE ARE PEACE. WE ARE LOVE.

OUR LITTLE BOLER

It is EARLY JUNE and I am feeling so inspired …..creative juices are flowing once again, such that, it seems a bother and a “waste of time” to have to go to sleep at night! Hands and mind are busy dreaming up designs for refurbishing a sweet little Boler that we just bought. Oh boy, it needs a lot of work both inside and out!

When it is done (and it may take a few months), I will post before and after pictures. My INSPIRATION for decorating the inside of the little trailer comes from Magnolia Pearl’s fabulous airstream.

Well, I know it is over the top with texture and fabric, and it is doubtful that I will be able to do that in a little 13 foot Boler! However, I want to try capturing the “feel” of it as best I can, with what limited access I have to that kind of sumptuous fabric embellishment. I am inspired by Magnolia Pearl’s creativity….it is both feminine and rustic, in an elegant free spirited sort of way.

SO PLEASE STAY TUNED….for OUR little Boler trailer, that will soon be transformed from a pitifully neglected and delapitated trailer, into a lush little Boler named the “GYPSY QUEEN”! Her debut will be sometime late September, this year……and I can hardly wait to get started! I think my hubby and I are in for quite an undertaking!

CONTEMPLATING LIFE and DREAMS

Today seems like a perfect day to contemplate life and “what dreams may come”.

Life is a collection of ideas, and dreams being born……

Following a dream can get a bit messy, but it’s fun too!

Jump in with both feet…..don’t be afraid!

Dreaming big can be fabulously exhausting dahling, and sometimes requires taking a break to regroup so to speak!

or maybe eat something tasty…

You know your dreams are fantastic, so they mustn’t go unrealized.

Dream it UP and dream it BIG!

Dreaming dreams with friends is the best of fun!

PURSUE, PERSEVER AND MOST OF ALL, PRACTISE PATIENCE.

CREATING BEAUTY IS LIVING A PURPOSEFUL, MEANINGFUL LIFE.

DREAM CATCHING

The latest art doll sculpture I have completed is named, “Dream Catcher“. This sculpture is my way of bringing into detailed form, the elements of dreaming good dreams, holding on to them, and never letting go until they come into being.

My very favourite song is “Imagine” by John Lennon…..when he sings….

“You may say I am a dreamer,

But I’m not the only one.

I hope someday you’ll join us

and the world will be as one.”

Can we dream this kind of dream together? Just imagine what could happen!

I AM A DREAMER

I often describe myself as a Dreamer, as I have been imagining and dreaming up things to create, to believe and to do, all of my life. I think it’s important to be a dreamer because dreams inspire, motivate and can change us into being better human beings.

I confess, I love dream catchers! Having originated in native cultures, dream catchers symbolize holding on to the good dreams we have. (However, it may be said, the little spider was the first to create these dreamy, wondrous catchers.)

Dream catchers are intricate and yet visually beautiful in their simplicity, whether in a handmade work of art by someone, or in the miraculous and delicate artwork of a little spider.

The next photos are my own interpretation of a dream catcher, using colorful vintage doilies. I was inspired to make these because I always feel a little sad when I see discarded crochet work, heaped in a pile in some thrift shops….. unwanted and long forgotten. I imagine they must have been lovingly made by some woman who spent hours weaving her own dreams in these beautiful mandalas. The catchers I have made hold the dreams of many, including my own……..
